As if celebration of the end of the school year, LSIIDP held a seminar on a topic: "Effective Communication among Children, Youth, Parents and Coaches". The lector of this seminar was the communication guru Valdis Melderis - a famous TV moderator, radio moderator, an actor and event organizer and manager. Valdis Melderis was chosen as a lector for this theme on purpose, because he is also a previous athlete of sprint canoe, which, as we know, is the sports of the project ICY. Therefore Valdis covered not only the communication aspect among the previously mentioned stakeholders, but also touched on the specific features of sprint canoe. The theme covered both - theoretical practical issues. Valdis Melderis drove a masterclass in an effective communication skills, which was equally valuable for sports specialists, coaches and family members, who were the target group of this seminar. The project team has held the third transnational meeting (TM3) in Vilnius, Lithuania on the 9th - 11th January, 2019. The work with the project team was effective as the first drafts of the dissemination plan were discussed. Partners also shared their reports on activities done as well as finances. And thanks to all partners and brainstorming together, the project team put the first frame of the final conference and its lecturers, officials and other participants. The project coordinator organisation thanks all partners and their devotion that made the TM3 of the project ICY so fruitful.
December 15 in Trakai here was a second seminar for coaches and athletes funded by the Erasmus + program. It was the third workshop of this programe. In the second workshop 3 lecturers gave lectures. One of the lecturers – Alexander Nikonorov (Great Britain) is a great coach with great kayaking experience. He has worked and trained the teams of the USSR, Spain, the Great Britain and China. In the last two Olympic Games, his athletes won two gold, silver and bronze medals.
